Job Title: Senior Software Developer

Summary: We have an opening for a Software Developer with 3 or more years of experience (Intermediate to Senior level). The position is in the Product Development Department, working on database related projects.
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience in different software development environments and systems. He/She will work in a team environment developing for Windows and Linux target systems. The development will not be limited to databases but also include interfacing databases into new and existing systems written in C/C++ or with web servers using VB, PHP, JavaScript, etc.
One of the initial projects consists of a “dual interface” data archiving system that can simultaneously be accessed via ODBC for IT systems and BACnet for building controllers.
This position provides an opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of different technologies. A history of continual learning and applying new technologies and techniques is definitely an asset.
This job is at Delta Controls Inc Corporate Headquarters in Surrey, BC (Cloverdale area).
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Design and implementation of stand-alone databases
- Design, implementation and integration of database components with other systems using C/C++
- Integration of database modules in Web Servers (Apache and IIS)
- Systems Analysis duties with future database projects
- Research into new technologies
- Peer review of code and designs
- Contributing to the overall design and architecture of new systems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3 or more years experience using C/C++, preferably with Microsoft Visual Studio
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- 3 or more years experience with database development
- Experience with ODBC, SQL Server, MySQL
- VB, JavaScript and PHP familiarity
- Understanding of large-scale, corporate databases
- Linux experience an asset
