BACnet Presented Live at the Light+Building 2008 Exposition in Frankfurt Germany

The BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) booth at Light+Building 2008 (Frankfurt, Germany) featured BACnet products from 30 manufacturers. The group's BACnet products were networked together, demonstrating live BACnet interoperability to large crowds of interested show visitors. This was the world’s largest BACnet community exhibit presented to date, and reflects how deeply BACnet has taken root in Europe. The booth was configured as a multi-vendor project, with all devices communicating seamlessly via BACnet across the booth’s IP-backbone.
The message carried by the booth was “BACnet The World of Integration – 10 years of Success in Europe“. Ten years have passed since the BIG-EU was formed in Europe, during which time the BACnet protocol has earned a strong reputation as the interoperability protocol of choice. The BIG-EU membership has grown to 78 companies to date, including Delta Controls as a founding member.
The highlight of the six day BACnet exhibit was marked by the press conference during which the BIG-EU and the WSPCert certification body presented 14 manufacturers with the industry’s first BACnet product Certifications, together with BTL listings, in the presence of BACnet’s pioneer, Mike Newman, a founding member of the BACnet Standard Committee SSPC 135.
This certified that the respective manufacturers’ products conform to the worldwide standard ISO 16484-5 (BACnet). Delta Controls received the BACnet certification from the WSPCert certification body, in addition to the BTL listing from the WSPLab test laboratory for Revision level 6 of the BACnet standard at the Building Controller level for its products.
It further demonstrates Delta’s BACnet leadership position in the market, with BACnet implemented across the entire product line to the furthest degree in the industry, providing system integrators and end customers with the widest range of BACnet functionality and assuring them of the proven system integration solutions for their projects and facilities respectively.
