Job Title: DDC GRAPHICS DESIGNER

Position Purpose:
In a cooperative, enthusiastic environment, the DDC Graphics Designer must be capable of rendering control systems graphics using architectural line drawings and points lists provided by the DDC Project Designer and DDC Project Manager. The DDC Graphics Designer should understand the requirements of the client perfectly as any finalized design graphic should not only be pleasing to the eye but also meet the requirements of the client.
Qualification & Skills Requirement:
- Educational requirements include a construction/engineering diploma or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. A technical assessment will be required. Graduate from instrumentation, computer science, mechanical engineering or applicable diploma an asset.
- Experience using design software including AutoCad and computer operating systems is essential.
- Working knowledge of HVAC controls and theory.
- Experience working with electrical systems and electronics an asset.
- Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others, have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situation where only limited direction exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
Duties & Respossibilities:
- The DDC Graphics Designer needs to understand what the client wants before putting down any ideas to paper. It is important that any design which is finalized is not only pleasing to the eye but meets the clients specifications.
- Create detailed DDC Graphics using, and not limited too, client provided blue prints, line drawings, controller sizing charts, electrical estimates, scope definition, exceptions / exclusions in preliminary proposal, points list and system sketches.
- Ensure that all the drawings are compliant with company policies, position guidelines and client specification.
- Work closely with the Construction Project Manager and supporting departments so that work can be supervised and changes to the original design are made if required.
- Meeting project deadlines and ensure that all records are maintained and up-to-date at all times.
- Consult with clients, developing a working relation, to assist in their preparation of operating system graphics.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Working Conditions:
- 95% office environment, 5% site assessment & meeting with clients, engineers and/or architects.
- 5 & 4 work week rotation, every second Friday or Monday off, approx. 9 hours work shifts.
