Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Specialists
Our Product Development Department has openings for Software Quality Assurance Specialists. Delta employs more than 50 Developers and Testers in its Product Development Department. They are responsible for all the code that runs in our embedded platforms as well as the front-end software running on workstations. The SQA Specialist does the test planning, test execution and results reporting for the development teams.

Job Summary:
The SQA Specialist plays a critical role on our product development teams. They ensure that Delta Controls software will meet the needs and requirements of its end-users. To accomplish this task the SQA Specialist must be proficient in test methods and procedures as well as software development lifecycles. They can quickly learn new products and technologies so that they can be extensively tested and evaluated before they are released to production. This includes working closely with programmers while developing test plans around design docs and requirements. The specialist records all test results and defects for resolution. Upon resolution the specialist also verifies that the fix will satisfy the intended customers needs.
Responsibility & Accountability:
- Creates, maintains and executes Test Plans.
- Develops and maintains automated test scripts in TestComplete (Delphi) and Python.
- Identifies and utilizes any hooks or test shells that may be added to the product to aid in testing.
- Tests software with the understanding of what bugs are critical to the end-user.
- Tracks defects in our database for any new and existing bugs in the system. Includes prioritization and targeting.
- Verifies bug fixes are satisfactory on new builds.
- Troubleshoots complex problems in software.
- Assists Customer Solutions in providing Beta site support.
- Acts as a resource to other departments on products and applications.
- Regularly identifies usability problems and make suggestions for improvement.
- Reviews, evaluates and updates Product Development and user documentation.
- Provides input on an ongoing basis.
Job Requirements:
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex problems.
- Familiarity with general coding practices.
- Familiarity with networking concepts. Specifically TCP/IP, MS/TP, Ethernet, RS232 and Windows/Linux Servers.
- Thorough knowledge of general testing methods and procedures. Well developed trouble-shooting and problem solving skills is an asset.
- Requires a good understanding of the fact Delta Controls is a customer service driven organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an accredited Technology Diploma program (Computer Science, Computer Control, Robotics, Instrumentation, Computer Control or other equivalent technology diploma program).
- Thorough knowledge of personal computers and current related software (i.e. DOS , C, C++, Windows OS’s and servers, Microsoft Office).
- Working knowledge of controls and control theory. Working knowledge of electrical and electronics is an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of testing methods and procedures.
