Job Title: Control Sales Engineer
Job Purpose:
Build and manage long term customer relationships/partnerships with target mechanical contractors, MEP consultants and building owners to target and secure new construction, retrofit and service opportunities.
Primary Job Duties:
- Establish realistic but aggressive customer acquisition strategy to successfully execute key prospect plans and tactics for continuous pipeline development and expansion of new business opportunities.
- Seeks out, target and initiate contact with multiple contractors, building owners and end-users. Focus sales process on new construction and renovation of existing buildings selling HVAC control systems, equipment, and building automation.
- Collaborate with internal estimators and engineers to create competitive, high quality and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis. Effectively write, present and communicate bids. Negotiates value, address resistance when demonstrated and closes the sale with optimal profit levels.
- Work collaboratively with all team members to ensure a smooth transition from prospect status to client status.
- Aid senior sales engineer with project management for smaller jobs. Proactively develop project plan and schedule, monitor costs and react to variations quickly; monitor labor reporting system to effectively control productivity, schedule subcontractors; escalate problems to management.
- Conduct post sale follow up to ensure all sales agreements have been accomplished per company standards, and customers are fully satisfied.
- Build service contract sales opportunities by establishing a marketing presence; researching and collecting competitive information; preparing strategic sales plans.
- Maintain overall account management responsibilities for assigned accounts. Develop existing accounts by tracking and analyzing services provided; interviewing key customer personnel; identifying and evaluating additional needs; identifying and evaluating new opportunities.
- Utilizes Salesforce.com to plan and document sales progress as well as increase business opportunity in accounts. Maintain 3x pipeline.
Knowledge, Skills & Education Qualifications:
Technical skills and education:
- At least five years successful track record selling automation and control solutions and project management.
- Ability to accelerate sale process.
- Strategic value selling and account development; presentations and proposal development and delivery.
- Business Acumen.
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related discipline required.
