Job Title: Service Manager

 

Position Description:

  • The Service Manager is responsible for managing the service systems and operations to ensure the profitable growth of the branch, and works directly with the Sales Manager and Construction Manager to ensure branch meets or exceeds monthly budget revenue and gross margin levels.
  • The Service Manager is responsible for managing service systems and operations that meet customers’ expectations and develop an effective partnership to meet customers’ needs.

 

Essentials duties include:

  • Manages the activities of Service Operations in meeting monthly budgeted revenues gross margin dollars/percents, and operating income for the service department. Takes corrective actions when necessary.
  • Responsible for coaching, training and ensuring that Best Practices are implemented.
  • Develop manpower-staffing requirements to meet current and future service requirements.
  • Responsible for implementation and utilization of the service schedule and dispatch system.
  • Manage customer's satisfaction process and ensures corrective actions are implemented when needed.
  • Administer company policies and procedures within the Service Department.
  • Responsible for Personnel activities of subordinates including review, salary adjustment, hiring and termination recommendations.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of supervisory/management experience. A minimum of seven years experience in comparable service/contracting oriented industry.
  • Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, end user customers, contractors, engineers and architects, including making presentations, leading and participating in branch and regional meetings, training sessions and product seminars.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software and strong PC skills.
  • Experience with Delta Controls Systems an asset (Version 2 & 3 platforms).

 
Abilities:

  • Excellent organization skills must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Assertive and decisive when handling delicate and problematic situations with customers and staff.
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement strategies and procedures that will improve Service Operations.
  • Leadership in promoting and directing the service initiatives: setting the example, informing and promoting the program, application and administration of techniques and programs.
